This CD entitled "Dream Sleep: Music for Relaxation" is produced, composed, and performed by Rutman Bowmore and printed and manufactured in Canada. It is from the Reflections of Nature series of CD's.

The CD is just over 45 minutes long and is structured into eight tracks ranging from about four to seven minutes each. All the tracks are similar and integrate ocean waves with the music. The waves stay in the foreground throughout with the instruments serving as filler between wave crashes.

Most of the time, a piano and flute are leads backed by strings and winds. Occasionally, a violin and guitar will move to the front to carry the score. On some of the tracks, the flute gives a Celtic vibe to the score. I don't know whether this is an ensemble performance or multiple synthesized keyboard overlays. The compositions are all fairly slow nondescript scores with no vocals.

The music smooths out the amplitude by filling the low volume transitions between wave crashes. Accordingly, none of the tunes and transitions stick in your mind and there are no surprises as you are trying to drift off to sleep. This is a nice hybrid of nature (ocean waves) and relaxing music. If you are looking for nature/music hybrids, then this a good one to add to your collection... (Janthree)
