Celebrating Ten Years Of Musical Excellence - Miramar TEN (1996)

Miramar Ten is a selection of 11 tracks recorded especially for this collection by the label's artists, including Tangerine Dream, Jan Hammer, Pete Bardens, Joaquin Lievano and Todd Rundgren. Like the majority of the releases on the label, Miramar Ten features a selection of layered, synthesized instrumentals that are more about texture than melody. For fans of the label's style, it's a nice addition to their record collection but most listeners will find it a little tedious. And, since it consists entirely of rarities, Miramar Ten doesn't function as a good introduction to the label or any of its artists, either. It's a collection that's only for collectors.
