Mozart - The Very Best Of Mozart (2005) (2CD)
| FLAC+CUE | 572MB | Classical, Instrumental | Label: Naxos, Germany | Covers |
Released by Naxos Germany, The Very Best Of Mozart is a comprehensive 2-CD collection that brings together some of the most beloved masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, interpreted by a range of respected international performers. With its mix of orchestral, chamber, operatic, and choral works, this compilation offers both newcomers and seasoned classical listeners a well-rounded journey through Mozart’s musical genius.

CD 1 opens with the iconic “Eine kleine Nachtmusik,” performed with brightness and precision by the Swedish Chamber Orchestra. Highlights include the emotionally rich “Confutatis and Lacrymosa” from Requiem, rendered hauntingly by the Gewandhaus Chamber Choir and Leipzig Chamber Orchestra, and the energetic “Symphony No. 40: Molto Allegro,” which captures Mozart’s dramatic flair. Also featured are beautiful vocal selections such as “Soave sia il vento” from Cosi fan tutte and the playful duet “La ci darem la mano” from Don Giovanni, performed with lyrical elegance.

CD 2 continues the journey with the spirited Marriage of Figaro Overture and the sublime “Adagio” from the Clarinet Concerto, performed by Ernst Ottensamer with remarkable warmth. The collection’s variety is further enriched by the virtuosic “Der Hölle Rache” aria from Die Zauberflöte, the lively “Rondo alla turca” from Piano Sonata No.11, and the serene “Andantino” from the Flute and Harp Concerto.

Performers like Jeno Jandó, Capella Istropolitana, and the Nicolaus Esterházy Sinfonia bring clarity and expressive depth to each piece. Overall, this anthology is an outstanding tribute to Mozart's timeless artistry, blending well-known works with lesser-heard gems in a way that remains accessible, emotionally engaging, and musically satisfying.
