The Bee Gees, formed in 1958, were a British-Australian pop group consisting of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Born on the Isle of Man and raised in Manchester, England, the Gibb brothers moved to Australia in 1958, where they began performing as child stars. Their early hits in the 1960s, like “Spicks and Specks” and “New York Mining Disaster 1941,” showcased their harmonious pop sound. After returning to England in 1967, they signed with manager Robert Stigwood, releasing albums like Idea (1968) and Odessa (1969), with hits such as “To Love Somebody” and “Massachusetts.”
The band’s career skyrocketed in the 1970s with their shift to disco, defining the era with the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977). Tracks like “Stayin’ Alive,” “Night Fever,” and “How Deep Is Your Love” topped charts worldwide, selling over 120 million records and making them one of the best-selling acts ever. Their falsetto harmonies and Barry’s songwriting brilliance became iconic. The 1980s saw continued success with albums like Spirits Having Flown (1979), though their popularity waned as disco faded.
The Bee Gees reinvented themselves in the 1990s with pop ballads like “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Their final studio album, This Is Where I Came In (2001), preceded Maurice’s sudden death in 2003, effectively ending the group. Robin passed away in 2012, leaving Barry as the sole surviving member. The band’s legacy includes 19 UK Top 10 singles, nine US number-ones, and inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (1997) and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
As of 2025, Barry Gibb, now 78, continues to honor the Bee Gees’ legacy through solo work and re-releases, including the 2020 album Greenfields. With over 220 million records sold, their timeless music remains a cultural touchstone.

DeleteĐã tải về nghe, rất hay! Cám ơn anh! :)
