Renowned musician Zhou Keqi – Recipient of China's highest music honor, the Golden Bell Award (金钟奖).

Zhou Keqi holds a Master’s degree in Literature and is a lecturer in bamboo flute (dizi) at the Department of Chinese Folk Music at Wuhan Conservatory of Music. He also serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Bamboo Flute Society and Vice Chairman of the Hulusi & Bawu Professional Committee of Hubei Province.

In 2001, he successfully held a solo dizi recital. In recent years, he has composed several original works, including: Du – A Monologue of a Bass Flute(独——一支低音笛的独白), Ancient Path (古道), Impressions on Four Classical Poems – for Six Xun Flutes (诗四贴写意——为六枚埙而作), Oracle Bone Script 'Huo' – an Impression for F-Tuned Xiao (甲骨文“获”之写意——为F调箫而作) and "Xiang Ballad (湘谣).

His achievements include an Excellence Award at the 6th China Music Golden Bell Awards, First Prize in Performance and Second Prize in Composition at Hubei’s 5th Music, Dance and Folk Arts Competition, and the Outstanding Work Award at the 3rd Golden Chime Bell Awards of Hubei.

Zhou has also published more than a dozen articles, essays, and poems, including "Circular Breathing Techniques for Bamboo Flute", "50 Years of Dizi Performance Art", "Watching the Clouds Rise Where the Waters End", and "On Tuning Accuracy in Dizi Performance through the Lens of Three Tuning Systems". His instructional book "Introduction to the Bamboo Flute" (笛子入门) was published by Hunan People’s Publishing House.

He has represented China in cultural exchange performances in the United States and Hungary, and released his own solo album: "The Way of the Bamboo: Drinking Alone on a Snowy Night (竹道之雪夜独酌)".
